Gathering in Spring to Look to the Future Together

Students and Teachers from Jinfeng Primary School and Saint Paul School

Paid a Visit to BNU Zhuhai as Part of “Zhuhai-Macao Exchange Student Program”

On March 2nd, a group of 25 students and teachers from the two sister schools —Jinfeng Primary School in Zhuhai and Saint Paul School in Macao -- visited BNU Zhuhai as part of the “Zhuhai-Macao Exchange Student Program”. The visiting teachers and students were warmly received by faculty from Phoenix School (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cultural and Educational Exchange Center) and took a study tour inside the campus with their institutions. The group stopped by several departments, including International Students’ Apartment, Phoenix Language Village of Phoenix School and the Art Museum of School of Future Design, where they conducted field visits and exchanges.

At the Art Museum of School of Future Design, the tour guide introduced the “Design, Science and Technology, Aesthetic Education and Future” exhibition (curated by the School) to the group and led them to appreciate works themed around “Design, Future Production and Lifestyle”, “Art and Technology” and “Design and Education”. This exhibition offered the visiting teachers and students an overview of the school’s exploration of design education.

At Phoenix Language Village, Ms. Li Yimeng from Phoenix School introduced the functions and mission of Phoenix Language Village to the group. Phoenix Language Village serves as an international platform for language learning and cultural exchange among Chinese and international students by organizing a variety of international cultural activities for students of different ages. As the Thailand champion of the 13th CHINESE BRIDGE Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students, Li Xingsheng, a student who majors in Chinese International Education, led the group to gain a better understanding of Thailand by introducing the geography and travel recommendations of his homeland. Lu Danying, a student representative of the “Training Plan of Excellent Teachers” and a member of the Poetry Club, celebrated the commitments of educators with the visiting teachers and students by reciting and appreciating poetry. Dr. Ye Ming, from Phoenix School, led them to appreciate the charm of French through interactive games and activities during an “experiencing French” lesson.

The visit provided teacher and student representatives from the two sister schools an opportunity to experience college life and the diverse extra-curricular activities at BNU Zhuhai in person. It inspired the visiting students’ thirst for knowledge and higher education and strengthened the friendship and bond between teachers and students from Zhuhai and Macao. In the future, Phoenix School will continue to develop cultural and educational exchange programs, such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area academic research tours, in collaboration with other departments of BNU Zhuhai. The goal, as always, is to contribute intellectual resources to the development of basic education in the Greater Bay Area and make the friendship among citizens from the Mainland, Taiwan, and Hong Kong bloom in new splendor in a warm spring.
