International Students Orientation Day

On August 27, 2023, the 2023 international freshmen from all over the world arrived at the scenic Phoenix Valley, setting sail for their campus life at Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai).

Belt and Road School, Phoenix School and the International Office had made full preparations at the welcoming site at the plaza in front of the library. The teachers and student volunteers in charge of the orientation work came to the site at 7 a.m. to assist the international freshmen to carry out one-stop check-in registration and move into the Phoenix School dormitory. The orientation work ran smoothly, and the site was in very good order.

In front of the orientation site, Belt and Road School and Phoenix School set up a beautiful poster wall for the freshmen, before which the freshmen could take photos to express their expectation and longing for the new semester and record the memorable day in their college years at BNU Zhuhai.

At 10:00 a.m., Wei Wei, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Normal University and Secretary of BNU Zhuhai, Zheng Guomin, Assistant to President of Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of BNU Zhuhai, as well as other members of the Management Committee of BNU Zhuhai came to the venue to greet the freshmen, and praised the teachers and volunteers in charge for their enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, and had a cordial exchange with the incoming freshmen.

At the accommodation registration locale of Phoenix School, the teachers, property hostesses and volunteers in charge of orientation welcomed the new students enthusiastically. The responsible parties assisted the freshmen with the check-in procedures, including getting registered, collecting a student card and dormitory key, handling the foreigners' temporary residence registration and so forth. Along the way, the volunteers helped the freshmen clear away their confusions about life on the campus by answering their questions and offered a helping hand to carry their luggage.

The newly enrolled international students for the fall semester come from different regions and have diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong international academic influence, highly capable faculty, first-class campus facilities and a strong international atmosphere are some of the reasons for students to study at Beijing Normal University. The international freshmen will start the new semester together, letting their youthful enthusiasm blossom and their ideals and ambitions set sail this fall.
