On the morning of August 3rd, the opening ceremony of the Summer International Chinese Language Education and Training Program co-hosted by Phoenix School and School of International Chinese Language Education, Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai ─ the class of college students from Cambodia, was held successfully in Phoenix Space at Yuehua Garden. A total of 11 students from the Royal Academy of Cambodia participated in the Chinese Language Education and Training Program, which received strong support of the International Chinese Teachers’ Scholarship from Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education.
School of International Chinese Language Education has established the International Chinese Language Education Department at College of Education for the Future at BNU Zhuhai. Sun Bo, Deputy Dean of College of Education for the Future, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Representatives of teachers from School of International Chinese Language Education, Wu Chengde and Guo Can, as well as Zhang Ling, assistant to the dean of Phoenix School, and the teaching and management teams of this training program, attended the opening ceremony together. The class opening ceremony was presided over by Teacher Guo Can.
Deputy Dean Sun Bo warmly welcomed the arrival of students from the Royal Academy of Cambodia in his speech, and briefly introduced the running situation of BNU Zhuhai, wishing the training program a complete success.
Teacher Zhang Ling introduced the arrangement and precautions of the weekend cultural visit activity for this first summer class, hoping that through the rich visit activities Cambodian students can more deeply experience Chinese history and culture and the style and features of the Greater Bay Area, and experience Lingnan culture.
Teacher Guo Can introduced the overall arrangement of the summer class. The summer class adopts the model of small class teaching, with five teachers from the International Chinese Language Education Department responsible for teaching comprehensive language courses, listening and speaking courses, cultural courses, and one-on-one tutoring courses, respectively. Moreover, the class was equipped with multiple class assistants to provide support for the international students’ learning and life at BNU Zhuhai.
Finally, the teachers and students took a group photo to mark the occasion, and the class opening ceremony ended successfully. The teaching activities of the program officially began.
