“The French Culture Experience Month Series Activities” of Phoenix School Came to a Successful Conclusion

On December 31, “The French Culture Experience Month Series Activities” held by Phoenix School came to a successful conclusion. Lectures on four major themes and a micro-exhibition of works by artists who have studied in France were included in this series of activities, aiming at enriching campus culture and broadening the international horizon of students.

Dr. Lv Zeqiang, Macao registered architect, French cultural heritage architect and artist, is giving the lecture.

French artist, He Junyan, is sharing knowledge on French humanities and art.

French teacher, Jonas Jacquemain, is delivering a lecture on French Literature.

Lectures showed the charm of French culture from four aspects: French architecture, French humanities, French art and French literature. Artists and scholars who have studied in France were invited to be the speakers, including Dr. Lv Zeqiang, a Macao registered architect, French cultural heritage architect and artist; He Junyan, an artist who has studied in France at the Sorbonne First University in Paris, France; and Jonas Jacquemain, a French foreign teacher who is a French DELF and DALF grade test trainer. To discover and experience different French landscapes, cultures, food, and explore the unique history, language and art of France, four themes were discussed in the lectures, covering the relationship between French architectural aesthetics and French history and culture, French humanistic environment and higher education, French classical art, photography and new wave films and romantic French literature.

Micro-Exhibition of Artists Who Have Studied in France

Teachers and students of BNU Zhuhai are viewing the exhibition freely.

By displaying the works of artists who have studied in France, the micro-exhibition held by Phoenix School mainly reflects the French urban and natural features. Some series of exhibits are collected in the National Art Museum of China, the Art Museum of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, etc. The micro-exhibition is considered to be a concentrated display of the academic research and achievements of artists who have studied in France, and teachers and students could view the exhibition freely.

The activity aimed to show the all-round, wide-ranging and multi-level exchanges and collisions of Sino-French culture to teachers and students of BNU Zhuhai, thus stimulating their interest and curiosity in French culture.

To fulfill its mission of promoting the development of international education and cultivating high-level talents with a global perspective, Phoenix School will strive to build other language villages, set a platform for Chinese and foreign students to learn languages and carry out cultural exchange activities, and provide the second learning classroom for all students so as to help students broaden their global vision and enhance the multi-cultural characteristics of the campus.
