On the afternoon of December 17, a delegation of four, including Secretary General of the Board of Directors, Vice President Tang Jiale and Vice President Jiang Zhihong of Macau University of Science and Technology, visited Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai and signed a cooperation agreement. Wang Shoujun, Vice President of Beijing Normal University and Director of the Administrative Committee, BNU Zhuhai, and Chen Xi, Director of International Education Affairs of BNU Zhuhai and Director of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cultural and Educational Exchange Center, attended the signing ceremony.

Wang Shoujun welcomed Tang Jiale and his delegation, and gave a comprehensive introduction to the historical evolution, discipline layout and key development areas of BNU Zhuhai. He pointed out that being located in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, BNU Zhuhai adheres to the principle of "high standard, new mechanism, and internationalization" to explore new paths for the essence and development of higher education. BNU Zhuhai and M.U.S.T. are both members of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao University Alliance, having a foundation of previous cooperation in student cultivation, joint scientific research, cultural exchanges, and laboratory sharing. In the future, BNU Zhuhai will cooperate with M.U.S.T. in more dimensions at a deeper level, so as to enhance the educational level and jointly contribute to the development of the Greater Bay Area, and make use of the educational advantages of the two schools to jointly promote the integrated development of higher education in Zhuhai and Macau, as well as to facilitate international technology innovation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Tang Jiale pointed out that M.U.S.T. will continue to strengthen and expand exchanges and cooperation with universities in the Greater Bay Area in the future. M.U.S.T. will integrate existing resources, re-organize engineering disciplines, and focus on developing interdisciplinary fields such as engineering, general health, humanities and arts, and at the same time cooperate with the plan of Hengqin-Guangdong-Macao in-depth cooperation zone to promote the transformation of production, education and research, and accelerate the upgrading of the industry. He expressed the hope that through this cooperation, M.U.S.T. and Beijing Normal University can complement each other’s resources, and in the future, they can strengthen cooperation and develop together in the fields of humanities, historical research, general health, and financial technology.

Jiang Zhihong expressed that M.U.S.T. responded to the call of the Macao SAR government and actively strengthened the transformation of achievements. At present, M.U.S.T. has transformed and implemented a number of achievements in the fields of traditional Chinese medicine, artificial intelligence, and new materials. In the future, M.U.S.T. hopes to have in-depth exchanges with BNU in inter-disciplinary fields.

After the talk, the two sides signed a cooperation agreement. Later, the guests participated in the Phoenix Forum (2021) of Beijing Normal University and communicated with the leaders of the Advanced Institute of Natural Sciences, the Advanced Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Future Design to discuss the details of future cooperation.
